I don’t know what happened, but light denim jackets (previously something I’d avoid) suddenly started to look really fresh to me. First I think was this City Chic one on J from Fatshionable, then there was the woman I saw outside earlier today.
In the thrift store today I took a look through the rack, and brought this one (from Joseph) home. I had some doubts, but it’s so soft, and the color is really pretty. I hoped it could work.
But meh, no. While it does up over my torso, and actually looks just fine, there’s a puffiness around the shoulders I can’t deal with. I can’t figure out what’s causing it, partly just the style but partly also something about how the armholes are set. And shoulders and armholes really can’t be changed, especially on a jacket like this with all the fading.
Then I remembered this Gas jacket I’ve had since 2001 or so! It was tight when I bought it, and it doesn’t do up now, so it’s been in storage. But really, I don’t need it to do up. I tried it, and I still love the cut. I think it looks good. It’s dark denim though, not the type of thing I was going for. Well, I’ll see if the Gas jacket makes it out of the closet, and I’ll keep my eye on the thrift store.
